What is Raffia?

Raffia is a natural fiber obtained from the leaves of the raffia palm (Raphia farinifera and other species in the Raphia genus), which is native to tropical regions of Africa, Madagascar, and parts of Central and South America.

How to Care for and Clean Your Raffia Rug

Do not expose it to rain, as stagnant water can damage the rug.

To remove dust, shake it or use a vacuum.

For a deep clean, you can wash it with a hose and a little soap, scrubbing with your feet.

Make sure the rug is completely dry. Avoid exposing it to strong direct sunlight.

Do not fold the rug while drying; it should remain flat. First, dry it by hanging it on a rope, turning it several times, then finish by drying it flat on the ground.
